BIOGRAPHY

Fred M. Brody, who heads our tax department, joined the firm in 1978 after seven years with the Internal Revenue Service, where he served in various capacities, including technical advisor to the District Director and liaison with the IRS National Office in Washington, D. C. Fred received his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Illinois and his doctorate in law from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He is a past general chairman and member of the Federal Tax Committee of the Illinois CPA Society.

Fred supervises all aspects of our tax controversies practice. He has also served as an expert witness in various court proceedings and as an instructor for several continuing education courses. Fred has a special area of expertise in the representation of asbestos qualified settlements trusts. This includes trust structuring, day-to-day trust accounting, operational processes and procedures, tax preparation and planning services and creation of a transparent process.
